SkillsUSA Competitors Come Away with Medals

More than 40 EASTERN students participated in the state SkillsUSA competition last week at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pa., and more than a few Cheltenham students won medals.
Junior Tobias Wendell (Design, Photography and Illustration) took first place in the CTE demonstration; senior Jacob Lam (Networking and Cybersecurity) finished second in the Internetworking category; senior Dahlia Madden (Allied Health) took third in the Health Occupations Portfolio category; and Allied Health seniors Virgymar Basabe Ruiz and Makena Feristin were two-thirds of the team that took third place in the Career Pathways Showcase.
SkillsUSA is the top workforce development organization for students, empowering them to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members. SkillsUSA represents more than 413,000 career and technical education students and teachers in middle schools, high schools and college/postsecondary institutions nationwide.
