S4L Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Feast
- 2024-2025 Spotlights
Against the backdrop of a YouTube video of a crackling fire (and a classroom warm enough to believe it’s real), more than 25 CHS Skills for Life (S4L) students celebrated the season of giving during the annual Thanksgiving feast on Thursday afternoon.
While balancing jobs and class, S4L students cooked a delicious meal almost entirely from scratch over the course of the past two weeks. The offerings included homemade apple and cranberry sauce, corn bread, stuffing, mac and cheese, corn, greens, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, gravy and turkey. The students also prepared a variety of desserts including apple pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, cookies and brownies.
The event is an excellent opportunity for the Skills for Life students to showcase what they’ve learned, including shopping, budgeting and soft skills like entertaining guests.
