CHS World Language Department Earns State Recognition

Congratulations to the World Languages Department at Cheltenham High School for earning Silver Globe recognition from the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA) Exemplary Program (PEP). CHS had to meet 11 rigorous criteria to be deemed “exemplary,” and is just one of eight schools across the state to earn the Silver Globe honor. CHS earning this recognition reflects a commitment to high-quality world language education that helps students build proficiency, deepen cultural understanding, and connect with the world beyond the classroom.

Started in 2005, the “Year of Languages,” PSMLA began the award program to recognize and honor exemplary PA high school foreign language programs. All Pennsylvania high schools (public, parochial, private, charter) are encouraged to showcase their exemplary programs. The two-year awards may be earned at four levels: Globe, Bronze Globe, Silver Globe, and Golden Globe.
