Eighth graders from Andre Clark’s classes put their scientific knowledge to the test during the Hot Air Balloon Fly Off Championship on Tuesday afternoon. Clark and fellow CBK STEM teachers Omar Rose and Sean Quenzer served as judges.
Students competed in a head-to-head face off to see who’s tissue paper balloon stayed airborne the longest after filling it up with hot air. The first round was “sudden death” where students only had one chance to prove their balloon’s capabilities. The semi finals were best of three, and the final was best of five.
The winners were (left to right) Brennan Porreca, Elliot Schies and Chloe Rodriguez. They won a trophy, certificate, and ROAR bucks for their accomplishments. Congratulations to all!
