Thursday, several professionals from fields as disparate as banking, nursing, human resources, pet grooming, education, social services, venture capital, interior design, and public health took time from their busy schedules to visit students at Cheltenham High School as part of the inaugural Art Haywood Career Day, sponsored by Cheltenham African-American Alliance (CAAA).

Former CSD School Board President and CAAA co-founder Julie Haywood opened the event with a history of the CAAA. Then, for the better part of almost three hours, speakers rotated through multiple classes, sharing their career paths and answering student questions. Speakers included Larry Daniels (finance), Enid Banton (pharmaceutical law), Taryn Flood (human resources), Antonia Dean (investing), Tierra Woods (dog grooming/grooming salon ownership), Rasheeda Gray (interior design), Brittanie Applewhite (public health manager), Michael Rashhid (entrepreneurship), Irv Brockington (banking, government), Rosalind Draughn (CPR nurse), Kelly Ward (education), Angel Hernandez (public health), Wallace Weaver (communications), and Ikysha Dearry (international higher education, child welfare).

CAAA thanks each of the event speakers for igniting the minds of our future leaders with their career insights and encouragement.
