Our Commitment

The Cheltenham School District (CSD) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure our websites, documents, and digital resources are usable by all members of our community.

Standards and Guidelines

To help us make the CSD website a positive place for everyone, we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.

We aim for Level AA compliance, which is the standard generally recognized by the Department of Education and the Office for Civil Rights.

  • Staff Training: We provide guidance to our educators and staff on creating accessible documents (PDFs), alt-text for images, and captioned video content.
  • Platform Design: Our website platform is designed to be compatible with common screen readers and assistive technologies.
