Kindergarten Happenings

  •  Lesson 1 -

    • Rules and Expectations of the Library.
    • Students will learn the rules and expectations in the library, book care, and how to select a book

    Lesson 2-

    • Review Rules and Expectations of the Library.
    • Students will discuss the importance of when it is ok and when it is not ok to interrupt.
    • Students will listen to the story "Interrupting Chicken"
    • Students will make a chicken craft. 

     Lesson 3-

    • Review Rules and Expectations of the Library.
    • Students will discuss the importance of importance of listening. 
    • Students will listen to the story "Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen"
    • Students will make a bunny listening craft. 

     Lesson 4-

    • Students will review the 4 seasons. They have been learning about them in class.
    • Students will listen to the story "The Leaf Theif".
    • Students will be able to recite the 4 seasons and 1 thing that makes each season unique . such as Winter has snow. Fall leaves change color.
    • Students will listen to two seasons songs to reinforce the 4 seasons.
    • Students will make a craft to practice writing the word "Fall". 

    Lesson 5-

    • Students will practice listening skills and focusing on being able to answer questions based on the story. 
    • Students will listen to the story "Hello Bumblebee Bat ".
    • Students will be able to answer questions based upon the story. 
    • Students will make a craft of a bat.

    Lesson 6-

    • Students will practice listening skills and focusing on being able to answer questions based on the story. 
    • Students will listen to the story "Hoot Owl Master Of Disguise ".
    • Students will be able to answer questions based upon the story. 
    • Students will create a disguise for their own owl.

    Lesson 7-

    • Students will attend the book fair. 

    Lesson 8-

    • Students will practice listening skills and focusing on being able to answer questions based on the story. 
    • Students will listen to the story "Squirrels Leap and Squirrels Sleep".
    • Students will be able to answer questions based upon the story. 
    • Students will create a squirrel project

    Lesson 9-

    • Students will learn about what makes a character (a person, animal or thing) and what makes a character different than a non character (A character can think, have feelings and do actions). 
    • Students will listen to the story "Arnie the doughnut".
    • Students will be able to answer questions based upon the story. 
    • Students will create thier own doughnut
