    A North Philadelphia native educated in the Philadelphia Public School system, Christopher A Pender Sr. has accumulated more than 25 years of experience working with young people, families and fathers as coach, mentor and facilitator. His driving motivation is to make a difference in the lives of those who lack purpose. To that end, Mr. Pender has written a book and designed curriculum on fatherhood, healthy relationships, vision/purpose and choices and consequences. In 2010, he was awarded the NAACP's Extraordinary Citizens award, and in 2009, he received the Chester State Correctional Institute (SCI) Volunteer Award for his work with the SCI population. He is also a member of the National Mentoring Children of Purpose Advisory Board in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Pender holds a master’s degree in human services from Lincoln University and a business degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. He resides in Cheltenham with his wife of almost 35 years. The couple has four children.
