Brooke Starr | World Languages (French)
After graduating from West Chester University in 2002, I began my career in the public school system in Pennsylvania. In 2003, I became part of the Cheltenham High School staff. I have been teaching here for the past 15 years. It is my personal goal to teach students the importance of languages and culture. After my own experiences with studying abroad both as a teenager, through the Rotary Exchange and again my junior year abroad, at Université de Bourgogne, I can see the importance of making connections throughout the world. Through the use of the French language, both written and spoken, I want my students to become more culturally proficient. I want to show students the role that they can play in today’s world and how opening up to learning new ways to say things, exploring new lands, music, traditions and even tastes, can inspire them to be more open and willing to understand the world in which we live.
