Khary Blackmon, Cedarbrook Counselor

I am very excited to join the Cedarbrook team this year! I attended Lincoln University where I received my B.S in Health and Physical Education and Recreation. I taught every grade level for several years in the School District of Philadelphia. I went on to attend Holy Family University where I received my M.S in School Counseling Psychology. Upon graduation, I worked as a therapist in inpatient, outpatient, and school setting throughout Philadelphia and Bucks County. I specialized in the treatment of children and adolescents but I also have experience treating adults. I then worked as an interim school counselor for the Bensalem school district for two years prior to transitioning into the Cheltenham School District. I currently volunteer as an assistant track coach for a community track team in Philadelphia. I  am a Sunday school teacher at my church and I also co-direct the youth usher board. I have two brilliant children of my own and a wife who is an educator as well.

I’ve committed my life to helping children and adolescents reach their highest potential. My desire to close the achievement gap and to make a difference in the life of young people will continue to be a guiding factor in my life. I know that school counselors have the ability to be the champion that every child needs and I am going to do my best to be just that. Go Wildcats!
