Dr. Tamara Thomas Smith
Dr. Tamara Thomas Smith has served as a district level and school based administrator, instructional leader, and teacher in various pre-kindergarten through high school configurations. Other titles held by Dr. Smith include Dean of Students and Athletic Director.
Specifically, Dr. Smith worked as Deputy Superintendent of the Chester Upland School District. She also held principal positions at Russel H. Conwell Middle Magnet School, Sheridan West Academy Middle School and Leslie P. Hill Elementary School. A Philadelphia native, Dr. Smith attended Friends’ Central High School on a full academic scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from LaSalle University, a Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education from Arcadia University, a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University (Dissertation: Race, Pedagogy & Practice). In addition, Dr. Smith attended the Harvard University Graduate School of Education’s National Institute for Urban School Leaders.
