    Each February, the U.S. Army celebrates and pays tribute to black Soldiers and recognizes the important contributions they have made in past wars and are continuing to make today in overseas contingency operations.

    for more than 20 years, the buffalo soldiers research museum has collected, preserved, and provided exhibits documenting the african american military experience. we have a special interest in military artifacts from 1866 to 1945 when the buffalo soldier regiments were active.  these regiments included individuals who served in the 38th, 39th 40th, 41st, 24th, and 25th infantries as well as the 9th, 10th, 27th, and 28th horse cavalries.
