    A Cheltenham resident for 15 years, Bill England was first elected to the school board in 2013, and served as the board president in 2016 and 2017. As a board member, he serves as the elected representative to the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit where he is board vice president. England’s community involvement began as a soccer coach for more than seven years through Cheltenham Sports. He participated in the working group which developed “Sustainable Cheltenham,” a means to improve the environment and health and well-being of the community; and served on the Cheltenham Human Relations Commission. Trained as a macro-level social worker, Mr. England has spent his career focused on policy and advocacy issues in education and health-related programs focused on children and families. He works for the Pennsylvania Health Access Network, where he is the campaign coordinator for the Montgomery County-based safety net advocacy coalition Here for Us. England graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with an MSW, and is married with one child who graduated from Cheltenham High School in 2020.
