Facilities Presentations

  • The Facilities Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except July).  At the Facilities Committee meetings, two board members who have been appointed co-chairs of the committee lead the meeting.  The meeting ordinarily provides information on a topic of interest which is generated in collaboration with the committee co-chairs.  The presentations from these meetings for the past year are posted below.

  • Facilities Committee Presentation October 2019

    The Facilities Committee convened on October 2 and presentations and updates were provided for the high school library/media center, which is completed and set to oplen to students on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and student courtyard and its final clean  up. Additional updates were provided in relation to district-wide building maintenance performed over the past month, including HVAC repairs at the Cheltenham Elementary and Elkins Park; painting the high school corridors; LED lighting installation (Wyncote completed; work beginning at Glenside); and boiler installation at the Administration Building (underway). A capital improvement plan is in progress and will include a facilities condition assessment update. Efforts surrounding sustainability and a more robust implementation of School Dude, a software suite for educational establishments, which provides solutions to improve operational areas, including – maintenance management and facility usage.

  • Facilities Committee Presentation September 2019

    The Facilities Committee convened on September 3, and presentations and updates were provided for the following projects at the high school: Library/Media Center (opening date pending); Courtyard, where finishing details are being completed on an ADA Ramp; CHS Gymnasium, which has been completed and in operation; and the Stretton Hall Structural Wall, for which we are awaiting an engineering report. 
     
    Additional updates were provided in relation to district-wide building maintenance performed over the summer and start of school year, including HVAC repairs at the high school and Elkins Parkpainting the high school corridors; LED lighting installation (Wyncote completed. Work beginning at Glenside); Administration Building boiler project planned for next month; and Facilities short- and long-term goals for the year.

  • Facilities Committee Presentation August 2019

    The inaugural Facilities Committee meeting of the school year was held Tuesday Aug. 6. Presentations and updates were provided for the following projects: CHS Media Center (scheduled completion of 9/15), student courtyard (adding finishing details), CHS gymnasium (sanded and stained and scheduled to be painted 8/15), and Stretton Hall structural wall (awaiting engineering report). Additional updates were provided in relation to Districtwide building maintenance work performed this summer (summer cleaning, air conditioner installation at Elkins Park cafeteria, Elkins Park painting, grounds preparation), LED lighting project (Wyncote completed with work beginning at Glenside), Administration Building boiler project and Facilities goals for the year.
