The Facilities Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except July). At the Facilities Committee meetings, two board members who have been appointed co-chairs of the committee lead the meeting. The meeting ordinarily provides information on a topic of interest which is generated in collaboration with the committee co-chairs. With co-chair David Cohen presiding, the Facilities Committee convened on Tuesday, Feb 4. The agenda included updates on the following: School district buildings, facilities condition assessment, Elkins Park AC, sustainability and SchoolDude progress. Director of Facilities and Maintenance David Teasdale delivered project updates for all schools and the administration building. Committee members were briefed about the Elkins Park AC upgrades, which will include adding power to support installing window AC units throughout the building, and a more robust implementation of SchoolDude, a software suite for educational institutions which streamlines maintenance management, facility usage, technology management and energy management. The committee meets next on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
