  • EP's Leadership Academy Visits PHL

    (March 15, 2023) Students in the Elkins Park Leadership Academy recently participated in the Philadelphia Airport’s Next Gen Empowerment Day. Students took a behind-the-scenes tour that most would not get to experience, and were exposed to various career paths.

  • Talking Neuroscience at EP

    (March 9, 2023) While reading Nic Stone’s novel “Clean Getaway” — a timely middle-grade road-trip story through landmarks of the Civil Rights movement and the map they lay for contemporary race relations — students in Cori Ayers fifth grade class had questions about a character who experiences seizures. Ms. Ayers invited her husband, Dr. Luke Ayers, associate professor and chair of the psychology department at Widener University and neuroscience expert, to talk to the class about the science of it all.

    (March 2, 2023) Award winning writer Kelly Yang, author of “New From Here,” the “Front Desk” series and more, spoke to EP students about her life experiences, the writing process, and discussed her newest book, “Finally Seen,” on Wednesday afternoon.

    (February 24, 2023) Answering a question about Ralph Bunche receiving a Nobel Peace Prize in the ninth round of competition, sixth grader Marielle Miller won the inaugural Elkins Park African American History Bee Thursday night.

  • EP Presents Check for MLK Day Walk-a-thon to Laurel House

    (February 6, 2023) Elkins Park Principal Dr. Crystal Clark and several students turned over a check for more than $1,400 to Laurel House from the funds raised from EP’s MLK Day of Service walk-a-thon.
